Widespread Panic Chattanooga 3/29/2005> >

Hey Y' All,>

Show number 4 of the boys return is in the books. I arrived with David about 6:50, hit Shakedown Street for 10 minutes, and proceeded inside. We were in the left section 15 rows from the stage. In 2 minutes, we upgraded to DFC over with DP and Martin. Ryan also showed up. The mic stand was loaded for bear with Shoeps, AKG's, and a bunch of Neumann's. We stayed in those seats all night. Why do people with such great seats, not show up? No complaints. They hit the stage a coule of minutes shy of 8:00 with a nice Little Kin. The song selection was all over the map. To sum up the evening in my opinion, the playing was very good, the sound was better than the Fox on any given previous night, but the setlist was nowhere for me other than a few fav's. > > The highlight of set 1 was the Blight>I'm Not Alone. Xmas Katy went down to the wire before we almost got Dirty Business. The second set held lots of promise with the Tom Waits classic, Goin' out West. That went south as we got to hear Bayou Lena(pure cheese any way you slice it). I heard the tuning and called Casa to my taping mates. I thoroughly enjoyed this tune. And yes, George played it nicely. Whenever I hear this tune, I can't help but think of the Greek when Carlos riped it back in 2001. The new JB song was pretty good, Crazy or Don't Worry. If anyone knows the name, let me know. The ending had Dave dropping some major bombs. Double wammy as we got Don't Wanna Lose You. There should be a law about playing Bayou Lena and this tune in the same show. Chilly was next and was split by a mini drums, Nebulous, and Space. I thought I heard Time is Free before Nebulous. George played the last few minutes of Chilly furiously on 5 strings as he broke one. I was hearing No Sugar at times in the set. That turned out to be Sometimes.> > The encore wasvery strong IMO. The show was very short by any standard. The second set was only 1:04. Another 2 disc show. Personally, this is a show that if I couldn't go and was seein' them the next night, I would say I didn't miss much. Look out Cincy! Here is how it went down:> >
