Widespread Panic 4/1/05 Detroit

HeY'All,

> Another one in the books. Sorry for the delay as I am a Travelin' Man. Great time for sure. I finally got to see my buddy Hubie in action! We got in as the doors opened. The security guard said NO BACKPACKS! Of course I had to argue with him and that pissed him off. I slid behind Tim and Tommy as they opened the doors. I went up to one of the Gestapo agents with the bag opened and pointed everything out to him. He never said a word. After Hubie and I, they were not letting back packs in. Only small bags. Lots of people had to go back to cars. We set up camp on the first rail off the pit. A security guard told me to go back to the section. I stayed, and he never came back. Very few tapers, the fewest evah! After the show started, I saw 1 stand in the section, Sam and a guy I know were on the one stand. We ran 1 stand with Hubie and Nate's Schoeps. Rannan ran his B&K's. One guy with a pair of stealth mics, probably Cor Sounds and that was it! The sound and the view were perfect from our spot. No hassles with security either.

> The show was very good, although we had mostly all repeats from the first 5 shows. Only 4 not yet covered. Nice to see the boys go over 1 hour for the first set again. The Lilly> Rock was a repeat but who could complain. The Wonderin' format with the jam has been awesome. This one was about 4 minutes shorter than the Fox. The Mercy featured a kick ass Other One jam highlighted by some Dave bombs! They had a tough time getting the Hatfield started, but this time JB rapped away at the end, more so than at the Fox. The May your Glass is on the slow side, almost slower than Old Joe.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However a large
