> Hey Y'All,
>
> Been a while as work has had me out of commission. The last several shows have looked pretty hot, especially Raleigh last night. Thanks for your calls and reviews over the past two weeks! My plan Thursday night was to get out of work by 6:00 and get up to downtown Cleveland to stealth the Allison Krauss and Union Station show. I never got out until about 9:15. My buddy Tim reminded me that Hookah was playing at the Outpost in Kent, about 45 minutes from work. Sounds like a revised plan. I got there at about 10:10 and set up shop. I had a chance to say hey to Dave, Johnny, Ed, Bradley, and Carinn. They got to play on the bill at the Wanee Fest in Florida last weekend. The crowd was a bit thin, perhaps Kent State was already done for the semester. The boys hit the stage at about 10:47. Dan had a small problem at the board as it seemed that some of the inputs got switched for the opening band. He had everything under contol pretty quickly though. The Red Dog out of the gate is always very welcomed in my book. My favorites of the set were the Better Man, and the winding Dumpster to close the set.
>
> Good meeting taper Matt from Columbus! After visiting with some folks at setbreak, the boys opened with almost a 20 minute Alexander. After T Rose, a mandolin player by the name of Dave Mayfield joined for the rest of the set. I called the Little Maggie. Cliff did two in a row as he handled the Isis like a pro. Always a great song from Robert Zimmerman! I believe that was my first Dark Hollow. I finally got an Arctic Song after about 2 years, thanks Dave! The ride back took too long as I got in at 3:45, thanks Di for the conversation on the drive back. Couldn't have been asleep for more than three hours...and back to work for a 15 hour day. Here is how it went down:

> The new Pope and his head Italian cardinal wanted to go out to dinner.
> The Italian cardinal said, "I know just the place, a little Italian restaurant called Luigi's." The Pope said, "Let's give it a try."
> After meeting Luigi at the restaurant, the Pope asked what the "house special" was and Luigi replied, "We have a special fish dish."
> The Pope asked, "What do you call it?"
> Luigi (embarrassed) replies, "We call it the "goddam fish dish."
> Startled, the Pope says, "Okay, I'll try the 'goddam fish dish'."
> The Italian cardinal said, "Okay, I'll try the 'goddam fish dish' also."
> They both thought it was absolutely wonderful.
>
> A few weeks later, the Pope elects a new cardinal from Texas, and they (the Pope, the Italian cardinal, and the newly appointed Texan cardinal) go to dinner at Luigi's.
>
> The Pope and the Italian cardinal order the "goddam fish dish." The stunned new cardinal from Texas wasn't quite sure what to do.
>
> He finally stood up and put his hands on their shoulders and said, "Whew, I knew I was gonna like you f**kers."
