> Time for round two at the Orpheum Theatre. Last night was a great show, what would be in store for us tonight? Frank was starting the night at the Super Jam with Trey, so entrusted me with his rig. The 722 is the shit! I enjoyed the Dirty Dozen Brass Band or as I call it, the 7/12ths Brass Band. They played about 1 hour and 5 minutes. They opened with a Fire on the Bayou. The best part of the set wer the last 5 songs, Big Chief, Marriage Proposal, Ball of Confusion>Guilded Splinters, and the closing number- I'll Fly Away.

> Warren and company hit the stage at the same exact time as last night, 10:47, with a mellow Banks. Soulshine was eliminated early as the 3rd song. Zee and I were groovin' as we heard our "Lola">Can't Quit you Baby. The How Many More Years sandwich with the Higher Ground was sweet. Time for some home cookin' as 4 members of the DDBB joined for a Jealous Kind>The Thrill is Gone! My first cover of this BB King gem.

> The second set featured some hard edge Mule! I just love the song Effigy and this version with the Folsom Prison jam in the middle was stellar! I am also a sucker for Devil Likes it Slow, and with Karl D. blowing sax, well........! He stepped off for Ain't No Sunshine and then back up for a very long Blindman. I had mixed emotions for the encore. I saw Dave standing in the wings, so of course I was holding out for Cortez. Dave comes up and stumbles around stage as they settle into an ultra mellow Watchtower. Dave had the lyrics on a piece of paper as he traded verses with Warren. Isn't this a song he does evey 3-4 nights with his own band? Why did he need lyrics...uh..he was shifaced?! It could have been a killer trae of an encore. I would have settled for straight out Mule instead of the way it went down. Oh well. Off to Harrah's. I dropped a bunch in a hurry, regrouped and fought back for almost 1 1/2 hours before I left with a plus$5.00! Time for another 3 hour nap before hitting the Fairgrounds.
