> Hey Y'All,

> Another adventure on the road! Talk about hard core, Zee booked a flight to see this one show! He was to arrive in Dayton where I am working the Ohio State Trapshoot for the entire week. I was to pick him up at 4:18 and we would drive to Columbus and be at the showe by 6:00. One problem, his plane got cancelled. It was 2:30 and too late to catch the 2:55 to Columbus, so they put him on a plane to Columbus arriving at 6:10, no problem. Wrong, the plane kept getting delayed. Long story short, he got a cab to the show after he landed and was there halfway through the Hookah set. As I walked in, I saw a very familiar sight at the soundboard, Innis! Nice to see him working with the Mule! Brad and I were already set up on the rail with Nate's rig. We recorded the Duo who played for a tad over 40 minutes. They were okay, about the same as I remembered them. They played a 44:10 set, I have no clue on the setlist though.

> Next up was the hometown favorite, Ekoostik Hookah. I figured we would get a 45 minute to an hour set. I was wrong as they played about 90 minutes. They got rolling nicely. I was hoping to see Warren join these guys, but it just was not meant to be. They did pull out my favorite, Keepin' Time. A nice Rollercoaster, Bone, and a great Dragonfly! They were definately rockin' and really helped to sell tickets to the show!

> Nate was very much bent out of shape that the show was moved in doors. I ran into Slim and spoke with him out front. I asked him if it was due to ticket sales and he confirmed it. The bullshit excuse the venue gave was so the bands could jam longer due to curfew. What a crock. It was a beautiful day and night! Oh well, as Warren would later sing.

> Time for the main event. What a difference the past 12 months in the setlists! They are really mixing it up to say the least. If I saw the setlist without being there, I would say who picked these and put them together. lots of obscure stuff. The first set was solid. I always love a show that has a Patchwork Quilt! West Coast Groovies has been avoiding me for the last couple of years. The How Many More Years with the Higher ground verse was a great way to close the first set. The second set was the heat! Monkey Hill>Want You So Bad/She's So Heavy was top notch. The Oh Well (my first)>Temporary Saint was great. I know we have all seen Soulshine 75 times, but this one was different. It had a very long extended jam.
>
> The encore had Danny opening the Beautifully Broken with a trumpet. This slid nicely into the familiar licks of Let it Rock, also my first! Have they ever done this one before? A great show, Zee and I got our moneysworth! We headed back to Dayton, got to the hotel in time for a 2 hour nap. Up at 4:30 so he could catch his plane, and me to work from 5:30 am til 11:00 pm, ouch! That is the reason for the delay as I have been swamped. It was great hangin' with N8, K8, Zee, Brad, Pete, KC, Dan and Michelle, Tim, Jess, Roger, Jay, Scribbler, Russell, Jason, Rob, Mik, Brian, Alex, kildo and Karen, KB, and several other friends!
