Ekoostik Hookah Toledo 7-22-2005

>
> Hey Y'All,
>
> I spent the past few days working in Toledo. I saw that Hookah was playing at the quarry, so I decided to leave work around 6 and meander over there. Centennial Quarry is a very nice place to see a show in an affluent area in Toledo. The venue has a poured dance floor big enough for at least 1000 people. The area around this floor is grassy and has tables lining the whole area. I've seen these guys here 3 or 4 times. When I arrived at 7:20, there were maybe 20 people on the inside. Most of the fans were in the lot drinking beer. As soon as they hit the stage at about 8:00, everyone came in and the crowd of about 500-600 were dancing away.

> They opened with an Old Montana Red Dog>Silver Train. This got everyone in the party mood. People must be careful inside as there are several "brown shirts" walking around in the venue. The Sister Sugar set ender was very nice and led us with anticipation for a kick ass second set. The second set did not dissappoint. The opener Devil Went Down to Georgia is always fun to hear. I don't know how Sweney makes that guitar sound like a fiddle! The version of Music was great. The Ohio Grown>Grass selection, ended the set. My only complaint, start earlier due to the early curfew. I did have fun hangin' with Taper Tim, Alex, Tim, Brad, Jeff, Andrea, Tommy, Matt, Taper Andrew, Corinne, and the usual suspects. Here is how it went down:
