Outformation Atlanta, Georgia 6/3/2006

> Hey Y'All,
>
> Got up early, as Chris and I got the yardwork done in a couple of hours. Still a bit tired from getting in at about 4:00 from Athens last night. A beautiful day for a BBQ! Charles and Mindy got up and we chowed on bagels that I picked up at Bageliscious. Some fresh peaches and cantalope as well. Chris C. came over and we headed to Brookhaven area for the Fox Brothers BBQ. We arrived and met Martin, DP, Carrington, and proceeded to set up in front of the stage about 12 feet out. People began to arrive and first up would be Mark Brut. He has gotten the band back together! He had a bassist and drummer. They only got to rehearse twice prior to the show. I usually see Mark solo acoustic, today, he was plugged in. The Bros had everything together and the yard looked nice.

> Mark came on at about 3:15. Not a lot of folks were there at first, but it filled in pretty soon afterwards. He opened with a version of Glow. The Centralia sounded very familiar and sounded good. My favorite segment was the It Is What it IS followed by The Sky is All Mine. Bird Dog sat in for the latter giving us some nice percussive sounds. The set stretched out to almost 1 hour. I think the players are all still very new. If they can play together and learn Mark's songs, he could be on to something. He has written some very good songs. I was looking for some Lou Reed covers, as Mark has been known to play them. After the set came the announcement, BBQ is served! After getting our gear ready for Out411, I hopped in line for BBQ. I filled my plate with some nice burnt ends of pulled pork, some juicy ribs, Mac n' cheese, ....YUMMY! I sat down with everyone and ate till it was gone! Excellent job Fox Bros! And for dessert, Outformation baby! Sam and the boys hit the stage just after 5:00.
>
> You couldn't have asked for nicer weather, as it never really got too hot. The sun was not a factor due to the shade of the trees. The beer kicked earlier than expected, but there was some Help on the Way! More Sweetwater 420 was delivered, twice I heard. The boys kicked off with an instrumental as they have so many times, Valley Blue. The Sweet Loisiana had the BBQ swishing inside to the beat. I enjoyed the Cry in Your Beer. The best part of the set to me was the closer, The Take Out>Ninety. A great end to a tight 1 hour set. Eli had the sound dialed in, which is tough when you are working behind the stage.
>
> The second set kicked off with one that Sam has been promising me for some time, the old Tucker favorite, 24 Hours at a Time. This version enlisted the acoustic guitar from Mark Brut and flowed into Edgewater. We then got the Dark Severensen that we missed from last night's show in Athens. This song has totally grown on me over the past year or so. We got to hear Grady test out his pipes for 2 tunes in a row, Waylon's Lonesome, Ornery, and Mean, followed by Bad Bitch. Then a nice Titles sandwich flowing into the set closer of another Tucker favorite, Blue Ridge Mountain Sky.
>
> After an 18 minute let's catch our breath break, it was time for the third set. The Stone in my Shoe has always sounded great to me, and this one was almost 11 minutes long! The A of D>Burned Faceless followed by 2 more Tucker classics made for a very nice third set. Shotrt and very sweet.

> There were way too many friends to begin listing here. You know who you are and it was tons of fun hangin' with you!!!! We were tired after 6 straight hours of partying! We ended up heading out after saying our goodbyes. We now layed claim to Pete, as he would spend the night in the burbs with all of us. Who knows, perhaps he will stay Sunday as there are more shows to see, and so little time to do them! Can't wait for the next BBQ here! Here is how it went down:
