moe/Yonder Mountain 2/26/05 Columbus

Hey Y'All,

I am reporting from Columbus at the Nate & Kate Fisher Bed and
Breakfast, where the accomodations are always 1st class! Now that you know
where I am, you probably are figuring that I either went to the Radiators
or the Yonder/moe. show. Tough choice, but it was the latter. Nate,
Kate, and I went to the Promo West Pavilion without tickets. Nate scored
one from a friend. Kate and I signed up for a raffle in the bar door to
the venue. Unreal, Kate won a free ticket! Nate scored one in the lot
and lo and behold, we were in! I have never seen this place so crowded!
We took Nates rig up front to the rail and set up DFC. Yonder came on
at 7:30 and treated us to a nice 90 minute set. Prior to the set, Ben
offered up the soundboard so I grabbed my DAP1 from the rail and took the
xlr's. Thanks Ben!!! There was a long line coming from my deck. There
were a ton of mini-discs in the section. Nate and I actually saw a mini
disc operator with a flashlight instead of the usual lighter to work
with! Believe it or not, the place was pretty much full by the time
Yonder was in full swing.

After opening with an 11:00 minute No Expectations, we were entertained
by many of the usual offerings from the Yonder menu such as a great
Ramblin' sandwich, 40 Miles From Denver, and Winds of Wyoming. They closed
with the crowd pleasing Dear Prudence.

Time for the next course. moe. took the stage at a bit after 9:30 and
opened with the slow tempo Okay. They picked up the pace throughout the
set. It was evident that this would be an "Al" night right from the
start. The bhighlight of the set for me was bringing Jeff Austin from
Yonder up for a rousing 17 + minute Mexico! The set clocked in at just
about 1 hour. The second set cranked! Other than Where Does the Time Go,
everything was kickin'. The Faker snadwich was very nice, especially the
jam out of Faker! Rob led us through some nice bass lines before the
boys headed back into Faker. The Rec Chem was a nice closer. Spine
finished up the night. If only the transporter was working, we could have
caught the tale end of the Rads 2nd set at the Newport! I told Nate he
should have checked the Dialithium crystals before hitting the Newcastles!
It was lots of fun, and lots of work up front as it was oversold. Nice
hangin' with Nate, Kate, Pete, Brad, Jesse, Jon, Rob(last taper to
arrive award), Chris, Teresa, Christy, and the other 3500 freaks!

Here is how it went down:
